Solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT—also referred to as solution-focused therapy) is a goal-directed, future-focused treatment modality that helps clients focus on finding potential solutions to their current problems and setting goals rather than focusing on the problems that brought them into treatment. SFBT is based on the belief that clients have solved various problems previously and might have some idea about ways to solve their current problems, but need a trained therapist’s assistance to help them identify those possible solutions.
SFBT can help treat:
- Addictions
- Anxiety
- Child Behavioral Problems
- Depression
- Family Dysfunction
- Grief and Loss
- Relationship Issues
- Schizophrenia
- Trauma
